Set on Capt. Brandon and Jared Cyr’s home waters of Key West, Florida, we follow a day in the life of a seventh-generation Keys family. The story unfolds with the natural rhythms of family and fishing: loading gear at daybreak, reading the water, tying knots, spotting fish, casting and releasing with care. The pacing is unhurried and observational, letting real moments and natural dialogue carry the emotion.

At its heart, What We Leave Behind is a story about inheritance. As Captains for Clean Water's Steward of the Year, Brandon inherited his father's passion for fishing and is now passing it to his son. He’s teaching respect for the waters and how conservation becomes second nature when you love something.
